Cap

Convex, expanding with age, orange yellow to ochraceous yellow, paler at margin, glutinous, to about 12 cm across

Gills

Crowded, pale greyish white, with a lilac tinge when young

Stem

Cylindrical, broadening at the base, whitish, decorated with orange brown rings or scales from the remains of the veil

Flesh

Pale cream to pale yellow, firm, yellow on exposure to KOH solution
